Pratolongo Store
These two buildings were constructed in 1897 after a fire two years earlier had destroyed the two-story adobe that existed on this property on the corner of Third and Mariposa Streets. The western false front buildings are wood framed structures with an exterior clad with horizontal wood siding at the front, and vertical wood siding at the northwest sides. There are recessed storefront entryways, each consisting of wood and glass French style double doors.
The well known Watering Trough women’s clothing store was housed in the buildings from the late 1960’s into the 1990’s. Then Pricilla’s Bookkeeping and Special Stuff was run in the building in the 1990’s until the early 2000’s. The buildings underwent significant renovations in the early 2000’s. Mission Clock Shop and Natural Wonders Health Food Store, owned and operated by the property owners, are now in these two buildings.
